Programme
- Presentation of the trainers and the participants;
- Presentation of the module by the facilitators;
- Introduction about radicalisation in the context of the Xeno Tolerance project;
- Activities to discuss and raise awareness on diversity, discrimination and radicalisation;
- Evaluation of the awareness module as a resource to work on diversity themes.
Description
After trainers and participants have the chance to present themselves, the Xeno Tolerance project should be introduced in order to explain the context for the elaboration of this awareness module. It should be mentioned that this project aims to elaborate resources/tools for teachers/trainers/education staff, in order to help them introduce and treat topics such as discrimination and marginalisation, as factors that can lead to radicalisation.
The module should begin with a deconstruction of the concept of radicalisation, based on the participants' perspectives (dynamic I), followed by an introduction of some theoretical considerations about ways to think and define radicalisation in the national context. The second dynamic includes a debate on topics related to radicalisation, such as discrimination, racism, antisemitism, and xenophobia. After this discussion and reflection about diversity and related topics, participants should work in groups to elaborate a plan for the promotion of diversity in schools (dynamic 3), and for raising awareness about the existence of different sociocultural universes.
Presence of two facilitators.
At the end of the activity, an evaluation survey will be distributed, which must contain the following elements:
- General evaluation of the activity;
- Evaluation of the facilitators;
- Recommendation (positive or negative) of this activity to a colleague.
At the end, all participants of the training must discuss what they learned during this awareness session.
